review 1: Red Rock is being repeatedly attacked by Mathews and his minnions. He is furious about losing his potential Alpha female Abby and is desperate to get his revenge on Abby or any person she has ever cared about. Joe and Brynn are the hero and heroine of this story. Brynn was being used as leverage by Mathews (in the previous book) to get to Abby. Keith, Abby and Joe went in to retrieve her. Joe was the one to save her and Brynn has had a bit of a soft spot for him since. Again the humour in this book was fantastic along with a shedload of friendly banter. Brynn is sick of being the only weak link in the chain and is desperate to become a werewolf like the rest of them. Joe is my favourite hero so far. He is so strong and confident but it's his charming and flirtacious b... moreehaviour that made me love him. He always has a whitty come back and he's just so playful, you can't help but warm to him. If this review was just based on Joe and the others I would have given it five stars. Unfortunately even with all the humour and great story, Brynn just bought this book down for me. She initially just moaned on and on like a child about having to be protected and looked after. Also, she was a lot weaker than the other females, where they stood up for themselves, fought for eachother and ok let's admit it... a lot hotter in the bedroom, Brynn just fell flat for me. The storyline that came with her transformation just annoyed me even further. She is out of control and her constant fight with herself is dragging Joe down with her. I still absoulutely love this book, I just wish that Joe had gotten a more suitable mate.
review 2: I enjoyed the second installment of the Red Rock Pass series even more than the first. When I first started reading I didn’t think I could love Joe more than Keith. Was I ever wrong! His sense of humor did me in. There is just something about a guy who is sexy and can make me laugh. Present me with that combo and I’m a goner. Sanctuary Lost is Brynn and Joe’s story. Brynn is a law student who finds herself immersed in werewolf drama after she is kidnapped by a psychotic alpha. Brynn is young, sassy, and completely endearing. Joe is a total smart ass but in a charming way. You’ll like it, I promise! The chemistry between Joe and Brynn is intense. It made this book difficult to put down. The events in Sanctuary Lost are heart wrenching at times. The authors managed to make me feel an array of emotions in less than 150 pages. That is saying something about their ability to tell a story. It also contains everything I loved about the first book in the series. Romance, action, and fascinating characters make for a heck of a good book. This was a fabulous addition to a very addictive series. less
