review 1: Spoilers!!Just like all Ms. Nalini Singh's books, this one is dark sexy and engaging. This book is about Demitri, the thousand-year-old vampire, the leader of Archangel Raphael's Seven who is hot and totally seductively sexy but with dark tormenting and soul-wrecking past. For the last three books, we will find that Demitri is not really happy to have Elena, a mere mortal guild hunter as Raphael's consort. He thought she is weak and liable to Raphael.... so Karma it is... here come Honor, a same weak mortal guild hunter who make his blood boils with need and desire. Honor is not a hunter-born but she was once a strong and independent guild hunter until the nightmarish incident happened. She was captured, tortured and seduced by a group of vampires for 2 entire months. She ... morewas bound and left naked while the vampire fed and tortured her both physically and mentally. The incident left her soul broke. It caused her fear and shame for she had succumbed to beg and plead within the hands of the vampires. To regain herself once more, her friends have tried to bring her out of her hide-hole in the cellar of the guild by giving her the task to help a case... not to hunt but describer the tattoo on the dead vampire... but most of all, it is to assist Demitri, one of the most feared and oldest vampire. Honor should be scared and feared by vampires but once she looked at Demitri, she desires him just like when she first saw a glimpse of him on the TV.... and Wow.. Demetri definitely wants her too. She gets under his skin.While Honor feels that Demitri only ever want her for her body, Demitri is struggling with his own attraction to Honor. the attraction that is so strong, it threatens his vows to his one and only mortal wife, the only woman he ever loved and would have loved until the day he turn to dust. Of course, in the end, he could not fight the attraction any longer. and so is Honor.This book is more about the story between Demitri and Honor... much much less about sex. not that i don't enjoyed Raphael and Elena's frequent sexual activities in the previous 2 books. but i have to say, i do enjoy the story much more.
review 2: Dimitri é um dos personagens que mais me despertou a atenção no primeiro livro, mas depois comecei a ter sentimentos contraditórios nos livros seguintes, devido ao seu hábito de estar sempre a meter-se com Elena, com aquela forma que ele tem de atrair sexualmente as outras pessoas. Apesar de estar muito entusiasmada para ler o seu livro, não sabia que esperar. Não podia era prever que seria uma história tão boa e, sobretudo, tão romântica! É o meu livro preferido, até agora!Não só a parte romântica é linda, como a outra parte do livro foi bastante interessante: a procura pelos abusadores de Honor e quem matou o vampiro que encontraram no início do livro e que levou Honor a trabalhar com Dmitri.[spoiler]Foi uma surpresa saber que Dimitri já esteve apaixonado, que era tão devotado a uma mulher e filhos. A sua perda e como sofre passados quase 1000 anos impressionou-me. Quando comecei a perceber que Honor tinha memórias da mulher dele, que era a mulher dele, Wow! Foi lindo![/spoiler] less
