review 1: I had an older elementary school girl recommend this book to me as a possible 2015 Newbery book. I enjoyed the book, but it does have a lot of characters that might be confusing for a younger reader. The book deals with a girl, her sister, and mom who move back to the mom's home town in between wandering. The girl hopes that they'll be able to break the family curse and finally find a place to call home.
