review 1: This book is an excellent expansion on the Adventure Time swap-verse mythos, and is adorably illustrated by writer/artist Natasha Allegri. Parts of this book read like beautiful fairy-tales, while the rest reads almost exactly like an episode of the show. The characters are handled expertly, with pitch perfect dialogue. The settings and props are enchanting and fun, while the narrative slips neatly in place with what is established in the cartoon. Plot-wise, nothing really mind-blowing is happening here, and we do meander off-course for a couple of "why-not" tales, but it's all fun and engaging to read. More than anything, I really hope Allegri does more comic work in the future. Her cartooning is excellent.
review 2: I love Adventure Time and I love Finn and J... moreake but there's something extra special about Fionna and Cake. I love all the gender swapped characters but unfortunately there's only two Fionna and Cake episodes in the series and I needed more.The art style is beautiful and unique, fitting with the usually Adventure Time style but Natasha Allegri added her own flair to it, which I love. I loved the use of fancy lettering, I know it's not something everyone is particularly fond of, but all the styles used were clear and easy to read.There's one main story which flows in the same way an Adventure Time episode does, introducing you to all you favourite characters from the series. And to top it off there are a couple of super short stories at the bottom which are just as entertaining and funny.Some one please, hurry up and give me more Fionna and Cake. less
