review 1: Henry is exceptional, we only get to see this because in the third book the world is placed on shoulders. This trilogy sucks you into sympathizing with the characters, you become attached to the story. Henry is a protagonist you can relate to. The first two books nicely set up what is necessary for the third book to focus on; that is, a battle between that which draws from death and that which draws from life. While others have complained about N.D. Wilson's jumping around of characters, I like the flow that it creates. The plot is not going to wait for you. All of this is going on at the same time, it helps you get a feeling for the scattered confusion that is taking place. I took a star off because I felt he didn't need this story to hit 480 pages. The third book... more wasn't any deeper in plot formations or character development, yet it was longer than the first two books. It would have been more intense, which is what the third book is aiming for, if Wilson took around forty pages out.
review 2: What a wonderful ending to a terrific trilogy. I love everything about this book. My only complaint about the series is that I would much rather refer to it as the "Dandelion Fire" series instead of the 100 Cupboards. The cupboards are really only an entry into the story. They play a major part in book 1, but they take a back seat in the 2nd and 3rd books. Maybe I will call it that. From here on out, this trilogy will be known as the "Dandelion Fire" trilogy in my head. less
