review 1: I really didn't like this book. I found that that characters were all split up, so the book followed several different plot lines that didn't really connect until the end. Due to the abnormally long chapters, every time the book switched characters, I could no longer remember what was happening before. I also thought that this book was WAY too long. This book would've been bearable if it were half as long, but I really struggled to finish it at this length (it took over 2 months!).
review 2: This book was a remarkable improvement and picks up and delivers on many of the things hinted about in the first book. I rarely enjoy the second book in a trilogy more than the first but this book was better than the first. It also did a better job with character developm
... moreent and world building. This story also felt more self contained than the first. I didn't feel like I needed to read the third book in order to fully enjoy the story (although I fully intend to do so!) less

Another great book. I am going to take a break before I read the third though.

I am enjoying this series. It is a bit dark for younger readers.

Like I said- They're good. And they must be read together.
