review 1: I really enjoyed this book. I like how Neal Shusterman changes the perspective the book is told by every chapter. It's also really cool how Risa winds up being forced to like (in her view) the most unthinkable and disturbing creature that she could ever come across: a boy made from a lot of unwinds. I think it's really cool how she slowly changes to actually see him as a person and not some kind of monster. I also like the complication that Starkey adds. He is really annoying and has way too much of a thirst for power. He is a character that I hate like crazy, but I still can't help kind of admiring his social skills and how he is able to skillfully manipulate people to help him gain power. This is an amazing book and I recommend it to everyone who likes a cool science fi... morection novel.
review 2: The sequel to Unwind is just as good as the first book. Neal Shusterman has a very creative way of writing that constantly leaves me in suspense or shocked about certain turn of events. When it comes to the main characters, Shusterman never gives you much reassurance that they will survive whatever predicament they're in. Also, Cam is a new character in the sequel who is possibly the most interesting to me. He is a boy 'created' out of unwind parts and his journey through figuring himself out and trying to function in such a different kind of body is very Interesting. What is most fascinating is how he thinks and communicates, using a lot of metaphors and riddles to express himself to others. Overall, the book has me hooked and I am anxious to see how it will end. less
