review 1: I'll just review this with the one question that kept running through my mind as I read this book - ...um...What?? I gave it 2 stars instead of one because I honestly read it twice and although it made no more sense the second time around I found myself looking forward to some rather hilarious (or ridiculous?) parts. That being said, I will never recommend this book to anyone and will probably never admit anywhere else that I read it.
review 2: For everyone thinking this book is low-brow or far too immature for their ``patrician`` tastes, you need to realize that this book is aware of how goofy and odd it is. I didn't read this expecting it to be a serious novel. I think when you're writing about crude topics such as literotica, you need to not only be self-awa
... morere, but also revel in the humor that this genre allows. Books such as "50 Shades of Grey" take themselves too seriously, and as a result, become this pseudo-intellectual "analysis of sexuality", but there really are not enough air quotes for that term. House of Holes realizes how funny it is and it really runs with it. I think if you have thin skin or a shallow sense of humor, you probably won't enjoy this book and might even be disgusted by it. But if you can allow yourself to read it with a (very) open mid and laid-back sense of humor, I don't see how you can't find yourself chuckling at terms such as "dickmeat thundertube". less
