review 1: Tackling the question, "Is someone the sum of their actions?" If you choose to do evil, are you evil, or is there a hope of redemption? Violent, arresting and thought provoking. Thought dead, mass murderer and cult figurehead Madder Red is now "cured" and determined to help the city he once traumatized. First stop, tracking down one of his former acolytes who has decided he is the angel of death.
review 2: I've heard here and there mixed things. Since it shall have a little bit of Hannibal (the TV series), I thought I give it a try.And it is a bit like the TV Series but without cannibalism, instead a great amount of insanity. Madder Reds character reminded me a little of the Joker. Bedlam is overall a great mix of crime and psycho thriller.The second volume got... more a lower rating on goodreads, which I understand, but volume 2 seemed like an opening to a big story line which could provide a nemesis for Fillmore. And that would take Bedlam to a new and higher level. So let's wait for volume 3 and we'll see. less
