review 1: Decent single-issue stories providing some backstories for the new kids (the "Truants", sheesh). However, still none of the big-picture questions get answered and none of the big-picture issues get resolved. We're already up to volume 7 and most of the mysteries raised in the first volume are still mysteries at this point.I think I'm past the point of caring about the mysteries now and maybe it's time for me to quit buying this series (unless it's on sale and there's a massive discount).
review 2: More wheel spinning, although this book was about the worst the series has produced so far. I can totally see how the writers believe they're following the Lost formula by interspersing character flashbacks in with present events. The thing they haven't figured out ... moreis that they have to make it interesting for me to care. I swear, something needs to happen in the next book or I'm done with this crap. less
