review 1: I gave up on this book about a third in and skim read the last two. I found it hideously painful to read and so unbelievable slow and pointless I think I aged 10 years reading it. 16 year old girl falls in love with older guy. Old guy leaves her. Fast forward 10 years. Girl has new love. Old guys turns up again. Old guy and young girl end up together. The end. If you're going to write a book as predictable and as cliched as this at least try and create a world that draws you in and keeps you engaged. Painful. Just painful.
review 2: (Contains minor spoilers) I read this book a few weeks ago and have to say, I was quite intrigued from the first few Chapters and I liked the main character, Paige's feistiness and sarcasm. It was well written and very believable an
... mored I was very curious to find out what happened in the end.So, when it moved to ten years later, the book became suddenly boring and Page became whiny, neurotic and all the scenes became very contrived and not really interesting. I just felt like the characters were very one dimensional and Richard was very female like when it came to emotions. I felt like a man wouldn't act like he did. Paige was irritating and kept pining for a man that she had known for a few weeks where nothing happened and yet she was hugely besotted/obsessed. Had they had some sort of affair or something actually happened before he left I could understand it. But...nothing had happened. This fantasy thing that they had something was so far in her head. It was totally unbelievable that after ten years she hadn't got over a little crush. The second half of the book wasn't good at all. It was obvious as well what was going to happen. I found it very hard to finish it and it's a pity because it was a great start with really good witty writing and then it felt like the rest of it was rushed. It was mostly, Paige going on about ben in every situation, thinking about ben, dreaming about Ben....you get the idea. It was also very coincidental that he ended up working in the Zoo and Voila she happens to bump into him. It was all A bit cheesy. A shame because paige at the start came off as a little bit eccentric but she turned into a lovelorn puppy and lost her sense of humour. Overall it's not terrible, but ending was predictable. less

Not normally a book I would read, but I thought it was great and would definitely recommend it.

Very easy to read! You get so involved with the characters, it's unreal.
