review 2: Okay, how does this book have a 4 star average rating?! It's a hot mess. The narrator Daisy is a 20-something who works in hospitality for a Formula 1 team, and talks like a Brit even though she's American. Daisy is also an annoying idiot. The team's got two new young drivers, and our girl Daisy falls for Will, the very vanilla golden boy of British racing, even though the book starts with her having a fiery encounter with Luis (Brazilian, though also talks like a Brit) and it's obvious he's the one she's going to end up with. Which, cool, I can do love triangles, but the way this one was resolved just felt lazy and cheap. So, I'm annoyed that the story started off so promising - overlooking the annoying first person narrator - only to go so off the rails. less
