review 1: A fun, light read free of judgement with a bit more depth than a parenting magazine article. There's a healthy dose of over-appreciation of the "French" way of doing things as Druckerman works hard to understand and fit in with French cultural norms for parenting. My mom (who is Japanese) had similar food rules and it definitely develops a child's palate. The praise on the back of the book sums up nicely who this book might appeal to--NPR, Amy Chua (Tiger Mom) and Mireille Guiliano (French Women Don't Get Fat).
review 2: I loved reading Bringing Up Bebe while I was pregnant, and now that my daughter has been born, I loved getting a quick review through this book. Bebe Day by Day is essentially a distilled, bite-size version of Bringing Up Bebe. If you've re
... moread the first, you've read the second. However, the author has no illusions that she is creating something new. She states that she wrote "Day by Day" to create a handy guide without the backstory, something you can hand to the grandparents or the sitter. I enjoyed the format, and I took almost as many notes the second time around as I did with the first book. Both books are valuable in their own right, but if you're looking for a handy reference guide to French principles of parenting, this is it. less

This book has nothing revolutionary. It is the type of book you browse in a bookstore, not buy.

The same concepts as in Bringing up Bebe, but just in a list format.

So much of this seems like common sense, totally right on though.

Nice summary of Bebe Day-by-Day.
