review 1: As usual with Scanlan's books, I absolutely loved this one. It was so dramatic though and as the book continued, I began to feel sorry for different characters, mainly Valerie of course; I started to feel sorry for tessa at one point until she totally went all out to make Val's life a misery; Tessa got what she deserved I'm sorry to say, though I realize that Briony shouldn't have been used as a weapon at the same time; wow, I don't know what I'd do in the situation myself.
review 2: I received this book from the Goodreads first reads/giveaways. I liked it for the most part. I really liked a few of the characters. I really didn't bond with a few of the main characters. For most of the book, they were selfish, immature & just plain mean. It made it difficult for... more me to like them. The story jumps back & forth in time. But it is interesting, and spans over several generations of two families. The ending was somewhat redeeming. less
