review 1: Unless I am far behind on a book series, I rarely read two books by the same author in succession. Nonetheless, I was so engrossed and impressed with THE POACHER'S SON that I knew once I finished it, I just had to read TRESPASSER. And I'm glad I did. It was very much worth the read. I may break another of my self-imposed (but not hard fast) rules and read BAD LITTLE FALLS next. The compulsion is there. :) And I will add this: I think it was an even better book than THE POACHER'S SON, but even that is an unfair comparison, because they were equally remarkable and will remain etched in my memory for some time.
review 2: Game Warden Bowditch is an interesting guy with a lot of baggage he still drags around from childhood. What I love about him is the aura of wild
... moreness he has; whether it is his outdoorsy nature, his gin swigging or his bad romance, the mysteries he gets entangled with are always fresh and well plotted. [return][return]The Maine Coast is a perfect place of this series. Doiron has captured the desperateness of a small town dependent of tourism; the dialogue is authentic. Trepasser is an easy, entertaining read. less
