review 1: This book is one of my favorites it's so compelling, once you start reading it u can't put it down, I mean I got sooo attached to detective Areih's character his charms , his intelligence and his absolute devotion to his job.The plot is brilliantly put together to keep us thinking on our feet, I mean put a murder in Jerusalem with and ancient one in Egypt and connect them to a labyrinth in the dessert somehow leading to a big ass corporation and you have a never ending suspense .Towards the ending though I almost lost it, all my theories went up in smoke as the story unraveled.I only have one question, why the hell did arieh die ?!!!!!!
review 2: Israeli detective Arieh Ben-Roi and Egyptian detective Yusef Khalifa are once again teamed (The Last Secret of The T
... moreemple). Human trafficking and a murdered journalist in Israel and poisoned wells in Egypt are connected to gold mining in Romania. Sussman masterfully weaves the threads of each into a story of greed and a family power struggle. I'd give 10 stars if I could. If you like intrigue, crime, government coverup, murder and a surprise ending - it is all here. Truly a "good read". less
