review 1: This books is a collection of stories written by Coelho in his blogg which are good for parents to tell their children.My favorite quotes.¨The need to have a particular thing- often something small and useless-ends up making us prisioners of that need.¨¨How silent it is! Said the disciple. Never say how silent it is, replied the teacher. Say rather: I cannot hear nature.¨¨ And what is a good teacher? ¨Someone who questions everything he teaches. Old ideas cannot enslave a man, because they change and take on new forms.¨¨And what is a good student? Someone who listens to what i say, but adapts my teachings to his life and never follows them blindly.¨¨You´ve no idea how much money I´ve earned using this trick. There´s mothing wrong with looking like a fool if, i... moren fact, you´re being really cleaver.¨¨Yes, I´am amazed by all these marvellous things, replied Gandhi. review 2: Wow. Some of these stories are a bit banal, but others made me think. The moral is clear at the end of each story, but it doesn't feel preachy. It feels eye-opening. Some of these I want to print out some day and frame merely because they're clever and true and helpful.I found myself a bit nicer after plowing through most of the first volume and all of the second. Perhaps one should be permanently reading these stories, just to become a bit better by being reminded of it in clever ways. less
