review 1: I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I was going to. My opinion on Damien Wayne (as Robin and not) is rather indifferent so I really did enjoy the effort made here to make you at the very least understand the dynamics here. We have Bruce Wayne, who is arguably not in a position to be anyone's father, and Damien Wayne, who really has not been raised at all like a normal ten year old boy. Is it ridiculous? Sort of. Does he sound like a ten year old? Debatable but this is comics and I highly doubt any sort of normal exists when one is raised by the League of Assassins. Anyway as Bruce tries to work with Damien as both a son and a partner in comes NoBody - a guy from Bruce's past looking to mess with this runaway train of a partnership. Alfred is doing the best he... more can for the pair of them but, really, is it all enough? It was a fantastic read, the art was also great (there are some panels of Batman that I want to throw up on my wall), and I'm eagerly looking forward to the next volume.
review 2: I particularly liked the way in which this story explored Bruce and Damian's relationship - how there's more to being father and son than just being thrown together and the way they need to work at it, and learn about each other.Emotions run high, and it was very easy to be pulled into the story, and, get more of a handle on Damian especially, who can be very hard to be sympathic towards. I liked the role Alfred played in this one too. less
