review 1: A little late to the game of the New 52 but I don't mind because the trades are just coming out and they are a bit cheaper if you wait a while on Comixology. I've read Superman and Green Lantern titles in former years and picked them back up with the New 52. I really like the GLC stories. It's just fun to get off Earth and see some crazy alien and space stories. Fearless delivers on that front. One of my favorite aspects of GLC comics is their full page panels. I love studying them and seeing all the things going on in those single pieces of art. Every comic utilizes them but it is their regular use of the full spreads in GLC that make it stand apart. Guy's and John's characters are spot on as expected. I have peak interest in the role that John keeps getting thrust into-... more-without spoiling--in making difficult decisions. How many more such choices before he snaps? This is a great collected edition. Will continue to pick up future volumes.
review 2: A good new volume of GLC, and one that extends the GLC mythology in interesting ways without leaning on the crutch of the rainbow lanterns. The focus on the characters of Gardner and Stewart is particularly good, especially in issues #1 and #7.On the downside, it's overly decompressed, as almost all of the initial New 52 arcs were, and the whole issue of Mogo from the war seems to have been rather inappropriately forgotten by Stewart. less
