review 1: Most of the recommendations made for endurance training seem reasonable, thoughtful and worth a try. I'm going to. It doesn't seem like there is much to lose since there is a strong common sense aspect to the guidance. Although, maybe that is because I am already undergoing a transition toward longer distance at slower paces.Some of the claims (particularly with regard to diet) are fairly bold and argued with more certainty than the constantly changing science of diet, physiology and training are likely to warrant. In addition, anyone making that many claims so strongly, and who is synthesizing so much, really needs citations to back them up.

... moreat Maffetone wasn't saying anything that he hadn't already said in either the first few pages or in a couple of interviews I heard with him on the Trail Runner Nation podcast. I would give the book 1 star, but his ideas are at least decent. But instead of trying to read this repetitive book, check out his interviews and lectures on the subject. less

Enjoyed the aerobic training section, but the rest of the book seemed like stuff I had already read.
