review 1: The plot moves quickly enough, and the local settings feel genuine (even though there's no back door at the Peet's on Washington at Broadway; both doors are near windows that wouldn't provide a secretive meeting spot). The characters and scheming, however, are either over-the-top or straight out of central casting. Not much to pull me back for another installment unless I wanted an easy, breezy read.
review 2: Two stories that seemed to have no connection until the very end of the book. One about a convicted killer that escaped from prison and the details about his murders, the second about a terrorist plot to blow up the Washington Redskins football stadium and all the people in and around it during the first quarter of a game. This wasn't my favorite Phillip
... more Margolin book, but it was packed with lots of action and surprise twists. less

Very average book. Seemed to have most of the components for a good story, but didn't quite make it.

Began fairly well but then got too rushed at the end to tie it all together

Not my favorite, but enjoyable.
