review 1: It was great to see a young lady work before she leaves for college. Alice was very independent. I have lived near the ports that the ship stopped at, so it was interesting to read about them.I did feel like nothing really happened in this book. Alice and Patrick's relationship did not move forward - they did not break up. Actually, they had little contact with each other. The other girls in the group did not change their relationships much at all.I will read the last one to see what happens when they all leave for college.More reviews on Ope's Opinions.com
review 2: I've always loved Alice McKinley, from the time I was introduced to her in 5th grade via Alice in Rapture, Sort Of [yes, I know I read the 2nd book before I read the 1st]. This is the penultim
... moreate book in the series, with the finale being released later this year. While Alice on Board was a good (ish) story, it lacked a lot of the older books' magic. Alice doesn't learn anything (besides skills on how to fold hospital corners on beds on a cruise line), there are no morals she wrestles with, there is no drama between her and Patrick (the most we see is her freaking out that she forgot to call him), there is little mention of her family (her father, step-mother, and brother were always huge pieces of older books), and even her friends go through little growth. Maybe it's the nature of Alice being 18, growing apart from her family in anticipation of college. Or maybe it's just a weak book. I don't know.I felt a little let down but I'm hoping the final book will be amazing. less

Not the most eventful Alice book, but I had to catch up before the last installment is released!

Second-to-last Alice book! They aren't as good as they used to be, but I can't give up now.
