review 1: About The Secret of Leadership. I sometimes wonder where Prakash Iyer gets his never ending line of stories from. The secret is that he has been watching life so closely. His Driver, a tea bag, a Lift Man or a Giraffe, or boiling water become a source for his next story, which eventually becomes a lesson for us to learn."The Secret of Leadership" is a wealth of tips for any leader.Some of them which really impressed me were, the Tea Bag, the one about the Mother Giraffe, the Evil Monster which used to give back twice..., Edison's formula, Ricky Ponting finding the gaps., If it is to be, It is up-to me etc... Many more to the list.It is a book, which can be read multiple times andsmall little anecdotes but the underlying message/learning is what you cannot learn from any B-... moreSchool classroom or any top of line Management books.One thing which I observed is that his book have a unique appeal for it's readers, across ages.
review 2: Similar to his first book, Prakash Iyer has been faithful to his storytelling style. Every little nugget of management mantra opens the eyes of the reader to a dimension which might be too obvious, but in a completely different light altogether. There are two school of thoughts on leadership, while one believes that leaders are born, the other believes that leaders can be forged through making them test under different situations. Clearly, Mr. Iyer is a strong believer of latter!Two most amazing insight personally for me was the 'teabag' & the 'Driver's licence' reference.. All in all a must read & a must have book for any book enthusiast in his/her collection. This is not the kind of book which one reads only once, this is the kind of book that one cherishes every time he reads! less
