review 1: Cambri thinks that her life is all that she has ever wanted and then her dad has a heart attach, making her return to her childhood home that she never wanted to return to. She also had to return to help her father, who she never felt she was good enough for. How sad is that? She also ran away from some things in her hometown that she didn't think she was ready to face. Then walks in Jace. Let's just start with his name. Jace...Yes, please ;). I love a man to swoon over in a book. The the short pages of this novel, it is very easy to fall in love with Jace. It's also very easy to feel bad for him. Such a hard worker, and loyal grandson. He was such a great character. He had such a great personality.Cambri, I liked because she seemed like a strong woman to me, jus... moret a little afraid of facing things from the past. Although, going into my past would be a terrifying thing ;). I would never want to live those years again...hehe. She was feisty, and had a good head on her shoulders, and a great career. Made me happy that she was an independent woman....Until returning home, and realizing that independence isn't all it's cracked up to be.This is such a sweet story, of love, missed opportunities, and forgiveness. I cried happy tears in this book. Who doesn't love a sappy romance? Well if you do, then shame on you ;). Sappy romances are so fantastic. They can't help but make you feel happy. If you want, a sweet, sappy (and in my opinion "sappy" is a huge compliment), quick story to read this is just the book for you. I love how much I felt for these characters. So much so, that I wanted the book to keep going, it was then that I realized that it's #3 in the series. Although I think each can be read as a stand alone, but it would have been fun to read the ones before. Like I said before, I am going to fix that pronto :).It's so beautifully written, that I just wanted to sit on the front porch in the story and bask in the beautiful landscape. I felt like I was while reading. Such a cute story!
review 2: When Cambri’s father has a heart attack, she returns to her home town to care for him. Seven years ago, just days after her high school graduation and two days after her best friend Jace kisses her, she leaves town without a word to him to pursue her education in Pennsylvania and after graduation lands a great job in North Carolina as a landscape architect. Now back in Bridger Colorado, helping her father, she tries to avoid Jace but everywhere she goes, he seems to be there too. Old feelings pop up and as the tension between them builds, Cambri realizes she needs to explain her hasty departure and silence for so many years. This is an adorable romance. The characters are likable and the plot is well written. I can’t wait to read more books by Rachael Anderson.***I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. less
