review 1: I have a feeling that if this novella had been just a bit longer, I would have given it a few more stars. I have been in love with Seraphina's world for a few years now, and I just now realized that this story was virtually accessible to almost anyone. It was worth the read; definitely entertaining. I have a feeling that one would appreciate it a little more if they had already read Seraphina, but it's possible they might enjoy it even more just being introduced to these characters through The Audition. If you're looking for a new fantasy story, I would definitely recommend both this and Seraphina. This short story brought me out of a reading slump (I can't help that I feel accomplished just by reading little stories quickly) and Seraphina is an altogether brilliant ... morebook.
review 2: “Seraphina” by Rachel Hartman is a thrill filled rush! This book takes you on so many twists and turns that you just have to stay up one more hour and read the next chapter. I am not a big reader but “Seraphina” has kept me captivated by the writing and adventure this poor girl is thrown into. Rachel Hartman is a genius author and will forever stay in my favorite’s category. The main characters courage and bastardly attitude take me aback and I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed and love this book and cannot wait for the second one to be released. less
