review 1: I originally skipped this story in Volume 3 because I just wanted to continue reading about the main characters. And I honestly dislike Sophie. So after reading Before I Wake I went back and read it. It was pretty good, actually enjoyed seeing a different side of Sophie. She seems like she may change a little, to be more understanding about the world around her. Even though she clearly still thinks Kaylee is still just plain crazy. Very much liked the way Luca was introduced to the story, and enjoy him. It's nice to see when people fall for each other, like they were meant to be together.
review 2: Getting inside Sophie’s head made me a little more sympathetic toward her. As hateful as she is, she really has had it rough, and who among us wasn’t self
... moreish in out early teens? I for one couldn’t see past the end of my nose, so I can relate. This short gives some hints that maybe there is more to her than meets the eye. She is a very strong, brave, and possibly not all human, girl. I am actually looking forward to seeing where she goes from here and her growth. And Luca? What. The. Heck. I have a feeling he is going to play a bigger role in the coming books. less
