review 1: I can't say this is one of his better books, I feel like we're trying to follow too many different characters in it and that the missing proofread is really hindering this book in becoming among the better.I would have liked it to focus more on what Pug did and less about Ty, Hal, Jim and Martin. The "regular" war stuff just feels so boring compared to the things Pug and Magnus experience.Another thing that makes rates this book down is how rushed the ending of it feels and the sudden introduction of even more characters.I just really hope that the final book in the series is that much better, than this and many of his newer books.
review 2: Pretty typical Feist - nowhere near as gripping as the original Midkemia books, but still a good read and built up to a n... moreice climax.The book would definitely have benefitted from a decent editor - or even spellcheck. I read all the complaints on inconsistencies with character names and timelines, and the hundreds of typos, and it's disappointing to see these still there in the paperback edition. less
