review 1: The cart is heading down hill loaded with explosives, bombs dropping out as it picks up speed. Doesn't look like anyone is going to be able to catch it in time. And now for the end! It appears Feist mustered up some of the old magic. You will care what happens to the characters. But most importantly, the gangs all back, kinda, for one last ride. I can't wait to read the next and sadly the last book..
review 2: Don't know what to make of this book. It started with realpromise taking off from where Part1 ended and developmentswere interesting. War between the Kingdom of Isles andGreat Kesh was inevitable given what happened in Part1 andthe whys and wherefores of this war was revealed and it seemed plausible. Also the adventures of the majorcharacters from Jame... mores Dasher Jamison to Hal, Martin andTy were fun to read but I felt the book ended abruptly.I was mystified where the "Rider" came from. No introductionsjust a sudden appearance towards the end of the book. Ihave a feeling that Feist was compelled to end the Part 2abruptly because the book was already more than 400 pageslong.Don't know if Feist finally grew tired of writing and justwanted to end this part2 or if the publishers gave him a set number of pages to write for and no more.I think George R.R. Martin's exposition is better becausewhen GRRM writes, it feels complete and he does notend his novels abruptly but just lets everything developand end on their own.This Part 2 of the Chaos Wars started okay but the endingwas abrupt. I still liked the story, would have wishedFeist to have spent more pages developing the ending...So only 3 stars. less
