Benefiting McLaren Hospital, the 2017 BWL Hometown Power 5K was my sister’s first footrace and our first official race together! She arrived a little late but fortunately the Universe sent a a slow moving freight train to delay the start. We were able to retrieve her bib and get back to the lineup in time for the starting gun. The route took us into an REOTOWN neighborhood, through a park, and down the Grand River before the finish at the Grand Depot. Couldn’t have asked for a better shared race experience!
