A weekend in Paris

Bonjour! I had a fabulous time in Paris on the weekend. Actually… I didn’t really go to Paris. I went to the next best thing – the Adelaide French Festival held by the Adelaide Festival Centre.

As if I didn’t want to go to Paris enough before, now I am checking the prices of flights. There were so many beautiful and traditional French inspired events and shows that showcased the French culture through film, music, art and food. If you are also interested in fashion and home, the Gathered Market displayed one of a kind creations made by passionate local designers.

The whole festival felt like a Spring dream in Paris with all the beautiful and colourful flower chandeliers hanging from the ceiling of the Dunstan Foyer, and the young girls and boys wearing their DIY flower crowns (it’s harder than it looks). The Flower Girl Adl located at the Gathered Market provided a beautiful selection of flowers and plants that I loved so much, I had to buy a bouquet.

The Gathered Market also offered some amazing handmade sterling silver and copper jewellery created by the talented Chloe-Shay. Safe to say, I am a little obsessed with these designs now.

I am conscious about the make-up and skincare products I use and look out for organic ingredients, especially when using skincare products. OmMade has been creating organic handmade skincare products since 2013. Their products help with issues like eczema and chapping with their silky smooth lotions and butters. Whatever you need, they have it!

Lunch will be something I will be nostalgic over till I can visit Neon bar again. What intended to be a light lunch and expecting the usual bar food, turned into a mouth-drooling experience. I can not even explain how good it was, you have to try it for yourself. I wish I could have a French ham, cheese and mustard toastie with a 1915 French inspired martini everyday.

I would definitely attend the Adelaide French Festival again! There were so many shows and workshops that I wish I could have seen and participated in, but so little time. If you have the chance, check out these local places on Instagram and Facebook.

Au revoir!

Best,

Penny
