Author Spotlight: Ted Galdi

Afternoon all, having a good weekend?

I’m full of cold and have had to cancel all sorts of fun plans, however it does mean I’ve got time to write a blog post or two. Which brings me nicely to the subject of today’s ‘Author Spotlight’.

Ted Galdi emailed me a week or so ago to see if I’d review his new book, American Cage. I’ve got quite a full reviewing schedule and Charley’s War won’t write itself (17500 words and counting) so I had to decline. However, I did suggest he might be interested in writing a post for an Author Spotlight. He wasn’t able to write anything but instead sent me links to various things, so I’m writing one myself.

Ted Galdi entered the world of novel writing with the publication of bestselling Elixir, winner of a Reader Views Reviewers Choice Award and a Silver Medal in the Readers’ Favorite Book Awards.

He’s a graduate of Duke University, a major in Political Science with a Certificate of Achievement in Film, Video, and Digital Media Studies.  After college, Ted co-founded a software company.

His Facebook page is here

His new book, which will be published 15th September 2017, is called An American Cage:

Three inmates break out of a maximum-security prison in Texas, one of them Danny Marsh, a suburban kid in his twenties who landed in jail because of a crime he never intended to commit. An American Cage follows Danny and his two escape partners over a twenty-four-hour period as they struggle to cross Texas to freedom in Mexico. On this dangerous journey, Danny has to evade the rabid Texas authorities, and even worse, the schemes of one of his closest allies, who isn’t who he seems.

There’s a book trailer for the video, it’s very dramatic, if you want to hear more.

The first chapter is also available to read on Scribd if you want to give it a read. I’ve read the first few paragraphs. It didn’t hook me straight away, I think it was the authorial voice that I didn’t gel with.  It’s also available from netgalley.com for book reviewers.

It’s an interesting premise and I’m sure it’ll appeal to those who enjoy television series like Prison Break and reading thrillers.
