review 1: I started this book and could not put it down. I am now onto the second in the series. My only disappointment was that I figured out who the killer was in the first meeting with the main heroine. I'm not sure why but the author leading the reader away from the truth just made it more clear to me. I did enjoy this book though which I normally cannot say when I figure it out in the beginning! The author kept my attention and I found myself liking the strong female heroine character. I usually find that female heroines are either whinny, too self reflecting or over the top tough, but not this one. It's a nice balance of strength, softness and "mother bear" protection for her daughter. Over all a good read!
review 2: A Scandinavian mystery thriller Rebekka Franck ... moreis a reporter in Denmark she is very well known. Rebekka moves back to her hometown of Karrebaeksminde. Soon after she starts her new job on the local paper. The body of one of the wealthiest men is found dead in his summer house. Rebekka knows him and she begins to look into his past and she finds a lot of dirt on him and his friends who all went to the same boarding school. She soon reveals a lot of very dark secrets. When another man is killed she finds the connection and the hunt for Denmarks first serial killer begins. During this time she is also fighting with her soon to be ex husband he wants he rand their six year old daughter back. Rebekka ad Sune the punk photographer try to solve the mystery of who is killing these men and why? A fascinating thrill ride of a story. If you enjoy serial killer mysteries i highly recommend you read this one. less
