Bitten by Kelley Armstrong

**SPOILER ALERT!!!**

Bitten tells the story of Elena, a werewolf who left her Pack (a year ago?) to live in the human world because she was ashamed of how violent she had become.  In the human world, she has gotten a secure job and has moved in with her boyfriend, Philip.  All of this is interrupted when the Alpha, Jeremy, calls her back to Stonehaven, where the Pack is.

Elena goes back thinking she’ll only be gone for the weekend, but turns out someone has been killing humans and dumping them on the Pack’s property.  This is all being done by mutts-werewolves who are not part of the pack-who are creating more werewolves out of murderers in order to further their cause which is to get Elena and make pure werewolf babies and to get more territory.

Elena and the gang have to hunt them down and kill them in order to stop them from exposing the Pack.  While all of this is going on, Elena is also hooking up with Clay, who turns out is her ex-fiancé AND the werewolf who bit her.

Overall, I liked the book and I think it’s good.  The only complaint I have is that Kelley Armstrong occasionally info dumps (especially in the first part) and sometimes reveals this important information in a weird order.  For example, having a few chapters with Clay THEN having them hook up, revealing that he bit her, and then revealing that they were engaged.  It was definitely odd.

What I found funny is how Elena kept forgetting about her boyfriend LOL!  There’s about 100 pages without even a mention of him and then she even says herself that she forgot about him.  Not to mention, she leaves him bleeding and hurt in her apartment near the end so that she can save Clay.  Honestly, I think Philip deserves better.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants an action packed and very fast read.  I will probably read the other books in the series!
