Over at the Distress Ink Techniques Facebook group, we offer a monthly technique challenge. A technique utilizing Distress products is described and the members have the entire month to submit their entries. This month’s challenge was the Block Stamping Technique. To accomplish this technique, you simply ink up your acrylic stamping block with distress ink or oxides, spritz lightly with water & stamp onto your card.
My submission included block stamping with Distress Ink and then applying Distress Ink through a stencil (the yellow squares on the card). I had previously watercolored some butterfly stamps and thought they would look cute on the card. I gold heat embossed the stamp (hugs) on to a scrap of black card stock and adhered it to the card.
Supplies:
- Strathmore 300 Series 140-pound cold press watercolor paper
- Distress Ink used for watercoloring (butterflies), block stamping, and stencil work
- Rubbernecker: Butterflies are Free stamp set
- Altenew: Tulip stamp set (hugs sentiment)
- Hampton Art: Honeycomb stencil
