review 1: A typical chick-lit book, but the pacing was a bit hit-or-miss, long sections dragged on where you knew what was coming and just had to wait for the author to finally get there, or where a scene that should have been enjoyably climactic went by without much fanfare (or with odd events thrown in-- I'm thinking of Austin throwing the box of cakes...? weird). Also, it was impossible to make it believable or in any way understandable that this girl would go back to the 'bad guy,' not just once but twice. In general the supporting cast of characters were fun to read about though - Helena, Pearl, Austin, Issy's father.
review 2: This was a sweet little chik-lit book with the extra bonus of lots of recipes thrown in. Issy has lost her job and her boyfriend and is str
... moreuggling to decide what to do with her life. Her beloved grandfather who had raised her had been a baker and had taught her to bake at a young age. So so decides to open a small cafe that specializes in cupcakes and other sweet deserts. The book follows her struggles to make a success of her new business and to find a new love. Is she successful in either endeavor? You'll have to read the book to find out! Its a sweet little read, not too deep but a lot fun to read. less

Yummy funny book, though I don't like the British style in novels!
