Christmas Lights in Meridian

There are several things I love about the Christmas season, but my top three favorite things are Christmas cards, making homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas Eve, and looking at Christmas lights. Well, my favorite thing is that God, in His infinite wisdom and great love for us, sent His one and only Son in the form of a baby to rescue us and bring us back to Him. But after that, it’s cards, cinnamon rolls, and lights.

Last year Luke and I had just moved to Idaho and I was weeks away from delivering Olivia. Between that and all of the snow, we didn’t make it out to see lights. I refused to let that happen this year! Last night we bundled up, filled our travel mugs with homemade hot apple cider, turned up the Christmas music in the car, and ventured out on an excursion to find the best lights in Meridian. There are plenty of other places to look at lights, but here’s the route we took. All of the houses include light shows choreographed to music and the entire trip can be viewed from within the comforts of the car (unless you want to walk around Scentsy Commons).

4550 W Brassie Ct. – 92.5 FM

This home featured multiple tracks (we stayed for four and it was still going) including a banjo twist on a Christmas favorite and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker. The lawn decor included a giant nutcracker, Cinderella carriage, Snoopy in a sleigh and more.

1228 N Monaco Way – 91.3 FM

This address actually features two houses joined together in one show and includes an excerpt from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation starring Chevy Chase. The show begins with an eerie instrumental lead-in and dramatic pauses. It’s short compared the other houses on this list but definitely entertaining!

Rather than making a U-turn, continue down Monaco Way to the next destination. Be sure to glance left and catch a glimpse of Snoopy. Once you make the left onto N Cairns Way, you’ll see a small Star Wars display to the right.

3705 N Buckstone Ave. – 95.3 FM

This was one of my favorite houses and includes more than 40,000 lights set to contemporary tunes. The show runs daily from 5-11 p.m.

1348 E Tourmaline St. – 103.9 FM

This was my least favorite and if we were to do it again, I’d probably skip it. However, there are two houses on W Zircon Avenue just before E Tourmaline Street with some fun Minion displays.

2701 E Pine Ave. (Scentsy Commons)

A Christmas light adventure in Meridian isn’t complete without a stop at Scentsy Commons. If you’re willing to brave the cold, take a moment to walk through their tunnel of lights (which for some reason reminds me of Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road) or wander amongst the trees adorned with green, white, and purple lights. At a minimum, you’ll get some Insta-worthy pictures. #ChristmasLights

546 W Valentino St. – 93.7 FM

This was one of my favorite houses, if not my favorite. The home features more than 58,000 lights including a giant electronic tree and a musical production lasting more than ten minutes. In the front of the house is a donation box; 100% of the proceeds benefit City Light Home for Women & Children.

If you stop at this location, take some time to drive around the other homes in the Paramount subdivision. There were several great displays!
