Concept Art: Down the Rabbit Hole

This collection, “Down the Rabbit Hole”, consists of concept art for Red, White, or In Between . For these photo manips, I used Pixabay for photos and PicMonkey (an online photo-editing site) for the manipulations and other photo effects.

Portal into Madness

I increased the shadow effect to give a sense of “falling through”. I also chose these  colors to make the viewer feel unsettled as red can sometimes represent anger and blood. In the Disney version of “Alice in Wonderland” the rabbit hole is depicted as dim-lighted and slightly mysterious. I heavily dimmed and darkened the colors to give the portal a similar effect.

The light in the center is where Eryn Kingsly is going yet you cannot see exactly where it is she will end up.

Uppland and Underland – Before the Jabberwocky

Before chaos, there was harmony. The two worlds were very beautiful. I would like to point out the effort that went into creating a sense of separation between the two worlds, as well as the close-far contrast with the sand dune by the stairs and the mountains in the distance.

Overall, I’m aiming to show the beauty within confusion of how far and close some things are, especially with the rocky lands on the right-hand side of the stairs. It may seem they are close by yet, it may also seem they are way down below the stairs.

Note: The Jabberwocky does not represent chaos. Just thought you should know
