Random day off from my job.
For most of my life (as a child and teenager), I was VERY VERY bad at festive events. Eg: Birthdays, Christmas, New Years, Easter etc etc etc. The only festive event I look forward to every year is Chinese New Years.
As a consequence of that, I so rarely bought people meaningful, thoughtful presents.
Meeting my wife really changed all that. Her family LOVE festive events. Every event has meaning and has a purpose. Completely opposite to my family. It drove me a bit crazy for a long time. But I realised all the things that I have missed over the years. My wife truly does complete me.
This year I bought the most presents I ever bought. Not because I have to (like my childhood), but because I want to. And year after year, I’m getting better at buying presents.
