The Cynster Sisters Trilogy
review 1: I tried hard, several times to get into this book. This is probably the worst Stephanie Laurens book I've ever read, and she is usually a pretty reliably good author to me. The love at first sight plot line almost never works for me nor does the whole piece of jewelry being somehow magic work for me. This book had both. The h was completely unlikable imo and the book overall read like something that should have been labelled YA (apart from the sex scenes) Added to that, one of my pet peeves are names that you'd NEVER hear back in the 1800's. I'd rather read about Hesters, Maudes, Gyneths than about Heathers, Jeremy's, Tiffanys and Brittanys. This book had almost all modern names and behaviours to go with those modern names.
review 2: The 3rd ins
... moretalment in the Cynster series was , in one word phenomenal! I'm so glad I didn't give up as I found book 2 so lacking and repetitious from book 1. At the end of book 2 I wondered whether the laird who captured Eliza would have his own chance at finding love. Unfortunately he ended up falling over a cliff which left me feeling sorry for the poor man who had to endure losing two Cynster sisters all to save his clan. The author certainly made up for the Earl's relentless troubles by allowing him to "capture" Angelica Cynster. In all reality it is he that is captured by the fiery heroine. The reader finally finds out the whole reason behind his actions in book one and two and is surprised at how quickly Angelica takes control of his little problem with his mother and obtaining the prized goblet that will save his clan. The attraction between the Earl and Angelica is smouldering hot and quickly burns out of control. The sex scenes left me breathless and wanting more...one bit of advice...read this book but make sure your " other half" is not tired when you manage to put the book down! less

I've now read a few in the Cynster series and love the family but really can't stand how long and drawn out her stories are. So this was my last straw, or book, if u will; it was just boring and slow. This hero was not my favorite, rather boring. She tried to make him something he just really wasn't, with all the talk about his predatory instincts. The reason ur supposed to keep reading is b/c of some goblet and her refusal to marry him until she can "make him fall in love w her," when they r practically married the whole book. I didn't even finish; I just was interested in the outcome.

I thoroughly enjoyed this conclusion to the Cynster sisters trilogy. Admittedly I had already read the duo that follow this trilogy, given the title of the book, the conclusion of the plot was not spoilt. The plot was brilliant and Angelica is definitely my favourite Cynster female so far. Laurens provides an excellent backdrop to a wonderful, gripping romance. This series is by far one of my all time favourite historical romance series!

Angelica is the most entertaining of the sisters. I like the Earl.
