review 1: Seemed a bit slow in places and then ended a bit abruptly. The tension surrounding the child who is alone in a flat unknown to anyone is really well done - the police miss several opportunities to find her, not taking all the information they are given seriously at first. I like the way the police team works more or less together as a team (even if they do make some silly errors!) Serious social issues lurk in this story, and the fairly ordinary Swedish background is well conveyed.
review 2: This is another book I have read courtesy of NetGalley and a real page turner. It cleverly interweaves multiple threads in a way in which you are never lost and has a good visual style. In fact I wondered whether this had been written with film rights or a television series
... more in mind especially as the ending leaves a few loose ends as if it was to be continued. But I only felt this towards the end and it did detract from it a little but overall I found it to be well written and highly engaging. The thread about the little girl was quite stressful to read but in a good way for a psychological thriller. less

Very good. Not as good as Nesbo in terms of characters, but lots of twist and tension

Des noms et des lieux impossibles à retenir. Une fin qui n'en est pas vraiment une.

Ruskigt bra. Men fruktansvärt jobbigt att läsa om barn som far illa.
