I was staying at my aunt’s house and so I took the opportunity to watch horror movies with my cousin. We didn’t actually have a particular movie to watch at the time so, whatever we see is showing on the tv we’re good to go.
We switched to Thrill, a channel dedicated to horror movies 24/7. First movie we watched was The Conjuring.

The Conjuring is an American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan and written by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes on 2013. It has an 86% rating on rotten tomatoes. It has a running time of 112 minutes.
PLOT: Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. “The Conjuring” tells the true story of Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga), world renowned paranormal investigators, who were called to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most horrifying case of their lives. — (C) WB
MY VERDICT: I give the movie an 8/10 bloody knives. Other than the fact that it was based on a true story, I totally love how everything was portrayed. The evil entities looked so good. The jump scares were also good. I also liked their costumes. Maybe the exorcism part was a bit off for me. The attacks however were really convincing. I also like how the first time I watched this film; it scared the hell out of me. Re–watching it again, I still can’t look at the jump scares straight.
The second movie we watched was Thirst.

Thirst was released on 2015. It’s an Action Sci-Fi Thriller that runs an hour and twenty seven minutes. Directed by Greg Kiefer and written by Elizabeth Hansen and Greg Kiefer.
PLOT: Disobedient teens arrive at a desert boot camp, for a program called second chance. The goal of the program is to set teens straight and help them sort out their lives by having them live in a secluded place with no communication. They came across some alien pod kind of thing and they were attacked. They realize their only chance for survival is to fight for their lives.
MY VERDICT: 4/10 bloody knives. First of all, acting was horrible especially the death scene. I don’t like the graphics that much. The alien was good enough. I guess it was feeding on them or something but the movie didn’t give enough info as to how this thing stumbled upon earth. What it was doing there? Was it for fertilization or reproduction of their kind? The ending was just your typical military peeps arrived when everything was taken care of by the survivors.
Third movie we watched was Haunted Mansion.

Haunted Mansion was originally titled as Rest House is a Filipino supernatural, horror film released on the 25th of December 2015. It was directed and written by Jun Luna. It has a running time of 110 minutes (1 hour and 50 minutes).
PLOT: The film follows a group of high school kids who are spending the night in a retreat house. When they learn that the retreat house is haunted, they set out to look for the ghosts just for fun, but find out soon enough that the urban legends are real.
MY VERDICT: If we’re talking about the story, I’m giving it a 6/10. First of all, the story was so good. I like the twist of it and how they kind of throw you off on the real story behind the urban legend at first. I like that the urban legend was set back in the old days. Costume was on point on the past. What I don’t like about the movie was the bad acting. I learned that the actors and actresses in the film were newbies. That’s probably why their acting was awkward and forced. I don’t like their expression and their body language. Also, I’m going to comment how annoying the dubbing was especially the breathing.
Last movie we watched was Alien vs. Predator

Alien vs. Predator: Requiem is a science fiction, action, horror film directed by the Brothers Strause (Coline and Greg) and written by Shane Salerno. It was released on 25th of December 2015. It has a running time of 94 minutes.
PLOT: Following the events of Alien vs. Predator, and the maturation of the chestburster that erupted from the body of Scar (the Predator that defeated the Alien Queen) into an adult Predalien, the Predator scout ship crashes in the woods of Gunnison County. A local, Buddy Benson, and his son, Sam, are hunting in the forest and witness the crash, but they are chased and are implanted with alien embryos by facehuggers along with several homeless people living in the sewers. Meanwhile another Predator lands seeking out the Alien and destroying evidence of their presence on Earth. The dwellers of the town find themselves in the middle of a battlefield between the two deadly extraterrestrial creatures, and the small group of survivors splits between the leadership of Sheriff Eddie Morales and the bad-boy Dallas Howard. Both have different opinions about the best means to escape from the beings.Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
MY VERDICT: I give this movie a 7/10 just because the alien and the predator character were so good looking. The amount of effort they did to create such monsters is a huge plus point for me. I enjoyed watching the movie because of the aliens swarming the town. I guess I couldn’t actually give a thorough explanation for this because I haven’t seen the first movie? I just think that I’m missing something out. Overall it was a good movie.
