Review: I love this book so much. With no words and only beautifully done oil paintings, Kadir Nelson conveys his message with what appears to be no effort at all. He explores both options that the mouse and rabbit can take: to plant a seed of selfishness, or to plant one of sharing. Through just his paintings, he illuminates the emotional arc all of the characters go through, and the joyous solution and ending that the characters come to. This is definitely a story that I would love to share with children to spread the loving message, or even just to my art major friends so they can look at the absolutely gorgeous paintings.
