review 1: This is the fifth book in Adler-Olsen's Department Q series. And it is fantastic. Carl Morck, the head of Department Q's Cold Case squad, is an irascible, often downright crabby character. His two oddball associates are Assad and Rose, both capable of handling their boss's snits. I feel this story is the best of the series to date. It is filled with bated breath non stop action and a protagonist you are constantly rooting for to succeed. I love this author, his series, and this book.
review 2: Jussi Adler-Olsen writes the most exciting novels involving Carl Morck, the "brilliant" Copenhagen detective and his very unusual assistants, Assad and Rose! Only Carl could stumble onto such a complicated case which included a runaway illegal immigrant boy, a "cla... moren' of children sent out daily to steal and beg for their 'leader', a scam involving funds meant for a development project sponsored by the Danish government for the pygmies in Cameroon, an African group of contract killers, and other seemingly unrelated instances. And yet, they were all related. What a story! less
