McGregor vs. Mayweather: There is no chance for McGregor?

Recently, whenever I watch a clip on Youtube about this boxing match, people always comment like “Floyd is 49-0, Conor doesn’t have a chance”, or “For Conor to beat Floyd in a boxing match is like a truck beat a race car in a race”, etc.

Alright, alright, to those people who think Conor doesn’t have a chance, I say think again.

The common belief is that because boxing and MMA are too different in rules that anyone from either sport cross the other will not fare well. History had proved that. When a former boxing champ, James Toney, went to the octagon and got submitted badly by Randy Couture. Of course, Toney was not in his prime then, which will be a faction in this MayMac event.

However, this common belief is not always true, especially in the MayMac case. Let’s see the pros and cons of each fighter in this case.

Conor McGregor

Pros:

– 29 years old.

– Strong boxing style even since the beginning of his career, everything else was just distraction for his punching chance.

– Enormous confident.

– Great timing.

– Very good pacing when he’s not too much eager to put away his opponent.

Cons:

– Tends to lower his hands.

– His chin is up.

– The rule sets of boxing can be an obstacle.

Floyd Mayweather

Pros:

– Experience.

– Best defence style.

– Quick legs.

– Deep understanding the boxing rules.

Cons:

– 40 years old.

Take a look at that. It looks like Conor has more disadvantages than Floyd. Still, the age gap between these two will play a big factor. It affects everything else. And if Conor’s history indicates anything is that he is tend to extremely focus when the odd against him.

Even without the age gap and the mental state advantage, look at this pros and cons I can easily say that there is quite a chance for both guys to win. So don’t say it like it’s impossible for Conor to win. It’s ridiculous. Nothing is impossible. Believe in your dream!
