And seeing the man who had been healed standing there with them, they had nothing to say in reply.

A true indicator of healing is the ability to get up and move. In my most recent bout with the flu, I had days and nights of lethargy and a great attraction to my bed. Sapped of all energy, my sickness announced itself in my body and also in my mood. The morning after my fever broke there was a difference in my demeanor, but also in my posture. I was no longer keen on staying tucked under the comforter. I needed to be up and about, taking care of the responsibilities neglected in the days before.
In the bible, the evidence of healing was immediate and permanent. The man referenced in the verse above was first found sitting at a gate, asking for change. When he received the change that mattered, he jumped up, testing strength of his legs and walked into the temple, praising Yahweh. (Acts 3:1-10).
After over 40 years of being unable to stand or walk (Acts 4:22), the man didn’t return to his position outside the temple. He never again sat with the intention to remain permanently in that posture. In fact, he became exhibit A in the disciples’ defense when proof of their power to heal was demanded. The formerly lame man demonstrated his change, by “standing” with the ones who spoke healing to him. He did not have to say a word; his proof was in his posture.
This was enough quiet the naysayers and the doubtful.
The best way to prove that you are different is to simply BE different. When we receive the change we have asked for, our Father no longer expects us sit in the mindset and posture of our previous state. He expects praise and a leaping from one level to the next; He expects us to stand as proof of His transformative healing power.
Prayer/Journal: Father I thank you that I am not where I used to be. I appreciate that you have moved me from the mindset that kept me stuck in fear (insert the word that appropriately describes where you are leaving from). As your love transforms me, may I be willing to stand up as proof of your power, giving hope and speaking healing to others who desire change.
Today, I am proof of my transformation
