Review

To tell you the truth, I actually started to read this series three or four years ago but I think I got bored when I was reading the second book. Or maybe I didn’t have the time.

Now, after reading it again for the second time (and this time I finished it), I realized how much of an idiot I was.

Crossed actually left me shook I don’t even know how to start my review.

Let me start with the fact that Ky has a point of view now! I am so happy to get inside the mind of Ky Markham and finally get to hear his thoughts. If there’s one thing I really loved about Ky having his own point of view is that it made me realize how much he really loved Cassia and how much he’s longing for her. When I was reading it, it’s almost like my heart is also breaking with his.

Cassia’s longing for Ky is heartbreaking as well. I can feel her determination in finding him and I am always at the edge of my seat because I really really want her to find Ky. Like find him right away. I think this is what I like about Cassia—her determination. Once again, I think this made me realize how much he really loves Ky.

“And even if he’s not there, I’ll find him. I’ll go over again and again until I’ve finally crossed to where he is.”

Let me talk about Xander for a bit. I am always doubting this guy. One time, I hated him because he got mad at Cassia for choosing Ky over him and the other time, I pity him. He loves Cassia too but it seems like he’s already accepted his defeat. BUT I think I’m going to hate him again after I learned about his secret and how he’s gonna be a part of Cassia’s life again. Yes, I know he’s always gonna be a part of her life but still. Damn, I’m such a hater.

Also, there are new characters! There’s a guy named Vick, a girl named Indie and a boy named Eli who actually looks like Bram, Cassia’s brother. I wouldn’t really say much about these new additions but I’ve got slight problems with Indie. I really hope that I would get to understand her character in the third book. I really don’t want to dislike her so I am hoping she wouldn’t disappoint me in Reached.

Xander’s secret and the fact about the blue tablets left my mouth hanging open. This is something I did not really expect and it definitely added some spice to the story. Really great job here, Ally Condie.

Now, I’m gonna go back to Ky and Cassia. I am in love with their relationship. It’s not a perfect one but that is reality. Both of them made their mistakes and it added a rift in their relationship but once again, they made their love for each other prevail. It makes me think that I really need someone like Ky Markham in my life. I really don’t want to spoil you but when they finally found each other, the feels came pouring in.

“Words just for me—the poetry of I love you—to keep me warm in the cold. With them she turns me back from ash and nothing into flesh and blood.”

I did not expect that I would love Crossed so much. It made me feel all kinds of emotions. This one was actually full of action and I loved every single one of it especially when Ky and Cassia’s romance was added in to the mix. Every single one of the characters played their role out pretty well and they were not deviating from who they really are. Also, the ending brought me to a roller coaster ride. One moment I was holding my breath and the next I was sighing in relief and it goes on again.

Crossed lived up to my expectations and I am so happy it ended that way.

My rating for Crossed is: 9/10

Another review done! I am afraid I won’t get to finish Reached right away because we have a report coming up and I really have to do it. Ugh. School is life.

I am slightly afraid of what might happen in Reached though. I got my fingers crossed

Please wish me luck on my report as well. It’s due on Monday.
