A decent beginning to what may be a great series, but who knows if I’ll ever actually pick up the next book. Here’s why: neither of the main characters drew me in. Both of them were pretty forgettable and the chemistry between them was only so-so.
I’m also not really big on the prickly girl-with-a-secret thing. Or, maybe it was just this particular character that I didn’t connect with.
Typically, if the love interest is good enough, I can eventually look past a main character that I can’t relate to, but, unfortunately, Chris wasn’t that character for me.
I actually was much more interested in learning more about his friends, and I did definitely appreciate the group dynamic. This is why I’m not completely discounting the possibility of reading the next book in the series, but I’m in no real rush.
Overall, this book was decent. I can see why some people love it, just as I can see why some people don’t. For me, it’s somewhere in the middle.
Audiobook Performance: 4 Stars
Mason Lloyd did a decent job narrating this book. He’s no Jacob Morgan, but his voice was pleasant enough!

Little to no butterflies in this story for me, unfortunately.
Re-read Worthiness: No
I don’t really see myself rereading this one, even if I decide to take on the rest of the series.

Unless I read the rest of the series and fall in love with it, I doubt I’ll be picking up a hard copy of this book.

While Chris was pretty lukewarm for me, he wasn’t a bad guy. I liked him, but there just wasn’t anything special about him.
