Are you tired? Do you ever feel like the world is beating you down, constantly telling you lies? Perhaps you thought you’d be so much further by now and wonder if a certain dream will ever come true. Maybe your hard work seems to go unnoticed, and despite all your efforts, that promotion hasn’t come. Now, you feel discouraged and find yourself trudging along through the same daily routine, waiting for a breakthrough.
Hold onto your hats, because there’s good news! God gives strength to those who hope in Him. In Isaiah 40:30-31, it says this:
If you feel tired, weary, or discouraged, it’s time to look up, because better days are coming. The Lord will renew your strength and cause you to “soar on wings like eagles.” How great would that be? According to baldeagleinfo.com, “bald eagles can fly at an altitude of 10,000 feet.” That’s almost two miles high! When you’re soaring at that altitude, the obstacles that once seemed large now appear as faint specks, if you can seen them at all.
As we hope in the Lord, we will “run and not grow weary…walk and not be faint.” When we try to do life on our own, it can be tiring. Working long hours, waking up early, staying up late with a restless child–don’t lose heart, because God has strength and endurance for you. As you keep your eyes on Him, he will give you the ability to overcome obstacles and thrive. Energy and renewed strength are coming!
If you feel weak, don’t be discouraged. Thankfully, it’s not by our own might that battles are won, but by the strength of Christ in us. The Lord told Paul in 2 Corinthians: “…My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (part of 2 Corinthians 12:9). Paul then says,
God has strength for His people, so even in weak moments, we are strong. We need to trust in Him and welcome His presence in our lives. Don’t lose hope. The Lord will never let you down, and the journey is not over. Let’s put our hope in the Lord, stay positive, and trust in His plan for us. Let’s welcome His presence and rise up “on wings like eagles.” Let’s soar over the problems or doubts that try to discourage us, and remember that with God, no goal is out of reach. He is the one who makes the seemingly impossible, possible, and there is no hurdle too big for Him to overcome. After all, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
No matter where you’re at this morning, remember that God loves you and His arms are open wide. In the Bible, Jesus says:
He has strength, endurance, and rest for those who come to Him. Put your trust in the One who will never let you down, and don’t let the world dictate the kind of day, week, month, or year you will have. With God by your side, you will overcome. Even in the darkest moments, His strength will come through and what tried to stop you, will be beneath your feet as you soar above the clouds.
I will leave you with this encouraging word from Jesus:
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33b)
