review 1: Well, in my opinion, this book offers a cold, dark environment/feeling while reading this book. It has a very nice storyline and love the plot. The way the narrator,(the main character Rektor Sherman), speaks makes you feel cold in the inside, telling you about how he doesn't have enough drugs left or that he will die of hunger. His way of talking also makes you imagine the setting much better. So the main point is that this book was great and highly recommend it to people that like zombies, pandemics, surviving, and dark, dark stories.

... moreith strong characters (particularly strong female characters), fun and novel plots and settings, good writing, and a near total absence of romantic subplots. All of the stuff that sci-fi/fantasy authors decry is too hard to work into novels, too demanding of readers to expect, Priest has done with these books. Highly recommended. less
