I liked it. I give it 4/5 stars. Here is the thing though- you need to take this book for what it is. I really like the premise – Medusa has ancestors- and the fact that it shows Medusa in a good light. I always love when Medusa’s story is rewritten since the actual story is the literal worst. I ain’t got no time for Athena. ANYWAY. These siblings find each other, are completely different, have to figure that out, they help save the world, so on and so forth. It is a pretty standard story. What bumped this up to a 4 for me is how well I feel like the author set up for the next book. I am more interested in what the heck some of the secondary characters are up to than the family sisterly drama story line. Aka- give me more Thane.
I don’t have any thought provoking quotes, but it really was a fun read. It isn’t going to stand up to Sox of Crows and the like in intricacy, plot, or character development, but t is a fun fantasy read about the types of mythology I actually like hearing about. It is kind of predictable and touchy feely, but I don’t mind.
Fictional characters who would like this: Rachel Green, Joey Tribbiani, Michael Scott, Pam Beasley Halpert.
